Harbhajan Singh rolled back to his days picking wickets of Jacque Kallis, Kevin O Brien, and Morne Van Wyk. It was a superb bowling effort by Harbhajan Singh finishing with figures of 4 for 13 in 2 overs.
India Maharajas could not chase down the target
The Indian Maharajas could not chase down the target of 167 runs. Robin Uthappa and captain Gautam Gambhir provided a flying start putting on 65 runs for the opening wicket. Murali Vijay retired hurt due to an injury.
Gambhir looked impressive with a well-made 68 off 42 deliveries and looked good for taking Maharajas to a win. With 8 runs required off the final over, Brett Lee held onto his nerves dismissing Stuart Binny. It went down the last delivery as Lee gave just 2 runs helping World Giants win the match by just 2 runs.
The match was in Indian Maharajas’ pocket but due to poor batting by Indian Maharajas, World Giants won it by a close margin. This was Indian Maharajas’ second successive loss as they lost to Asia Lions in the opening encounter played by 9 runs.
