Gujarat Titans (GT), a short time ago noted their name on the precious Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy. Hardik Pandya-led side, debuting in the tournament, won their maiden IPL title, on Sunday, May 29. Pandya, who led the team at the biggest stage in the cricketing world, lifted the cup in front of a crowd of more than 1,00,000, at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Pandya particularly, arising back from injury last year, had to deal with a ton of criticism concerning his bowling exclusively. But the 28-year-old came back much stronger smashing 487 runs in 15 innings, at a strike rate of 131.26. He also picked 8 wickets in the 10 innings, he bowled in.

Meanwhile, Pandya has received abundant praise for his leadership skills this year. After the final contest, the former Mumbai Indians all-rounder seemed much relieved.

In a video clip, which has gone viral, Pandya walked up to Rahul Tewatia, who was busy talking to Harsha Bhogle, the interviewer and excellent commentator, about his experience of IPL 2022, with GT. The GT skipper tapped the bowling all-rounder which left a smile on Tewatia’s face. Bhogle also joined the fun.

Besides, Tewatia had a decent season with his new franchise. He also aided the team to win many close games, with his spectacular knocks.

“Hardik keeps things simple”- Rahul Tewatia

Tewatia earlier, speaking to NDTV, opened up regarding several aspects of the game and team. He stated: “Hardik keeps things simple both on and off the field. He practices the same way every time, irrespective of whether he has scored runs or not. He keeps the atmosphere pretty chilled. It does not look like Hardik is captaining for the first time.”

“I have talked a lot about bowling with Rashid Khan. If Rashid does not take a wicket, then you just see that he concedes only 15-20 runs. He has a big impact on the game. Rashid Bhai also told us that he worked a lot on his batting and it showed this season.”, Tewatia added.
