Providing a significant boost to the Mumbai Indians (MI) before IPL 2024, newly appointed captain Hardik Pandya appears to have regained his bowling form. On Saturday, he posted a video on his Instagram, showcasing what he referred to as his initial ground, likely Moti Bagh stadium in Vadodara, Gujarat, where his cricket journey commenced.
Hardik Pandya addressed the camera at the beginning of the video, reminiscing about his experiences on the ground. The footage featured snippets of his warm-up and subsequently showcased him bowling in the open nets, displaying a level of fitness close to 100 percent.

The ground holds significance as the home venue for the Baroda state team in India’s domestic competitions. Notable cricketers like Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, and the emerging pacer Raj Limbani, currently representing India in the Under-19 World Cup, have refined their skills on this turf.
It’s noteworthy that Hardik Pandya chose to practice in Gujarat, the home state of the IPL team Gujarat Titans. He led the Titans to two consecutive IPL finals, securing the first title win in 2022, before departing for the Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2024.
“I see this as a very special and important place”- Hardik Pandya
Discussing the ground, he mentioned that the valuable lessons he learned there at the beginning of his journey 17 years ago were ‘invaluable.’
“Good to be back to my… a place for, what do you call it, improvement. I treat this as a temple because of the amount of learning I have got on this ground. What it has taught me has been priceless. My journey started, if I am not wrong, from literally 17 years back on this same very ground. Feels good to be back,” Hardik Pandya said in the video. “I’ll make sure I cover every single thing possible today and every day.”
It’s been reported that IPL 2024 is set to commence on March 23, 2024, with him taking on the role of captain for the Mumbai Indians.
