Watch – Hardik Pandya Returns To Training At The NCA

Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who was out of action for the last six months owing to an injury has returned to training at the National Cricket Academy. The flamboyant cricketer is likely to return during the DY Patil Cricket Tournament to test his fitness ahead of this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) which starts from March 29.

Pandya has been struggling with the injury since the 2018 Asia Cup when he had to stretchered off the field during India’s game against Pakistan in the UAE. Hardik Pandya underwent back surgery in October last year and hoped to recover in time for the two-Test series in New Zealand. However, his rehabilitation has taken longer than expected, and the all-rounder has not been cleared to make a comeback in February.

The selectors initially drafted Pandya into India A squad for the New Zealand A tour. However, he took time to respond and was ruled out of the entire tour. Last month, he had travelled to London with NCA head physio Ashish Kaushik for a review by spinal surgeon Dr James Allibone. Currently, he is undergoing a rehabilitation programme at the National Cricket Academy.

In a recent video shared by ESPNCricinfo’s Twitter handle, Hardik Pandya was seen taking some throwdowns in the nets. Although he didn’t look in full flow, but his return to the nets will be a massive booster to the India and Mumbai Indians.
