[Watch] Harmanpreet Kaur Takes Off In Celebration, Provides India Much Needed-Breakthrough

Team India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur led from the front on the third day of the one-off Test against Australia on Saturday, December 23 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Her twin strikers have put India ahead in the match ahead of the final day’s play. She turned out to be India’s golden arm during the second innings.

Australian skipper Alyssa Healy and Tahila McGrath put on a good partnership of 66 runs for the fourth wicket stand. The partnership was proving to be a bit dangerous for India when Harmanpreet Kaur sent McGrath back to the pavilion. In the seventy-second over, the Indian skipper bowled a tossed-up outside off-stump delivery.

Tahila McGrath got forward to defend the ball. However, it took the inside edge and then hit the pads, before going on to dislodge the bails. Tahila McGrath had to walk back with a well-played 73 runs knock from 177 deliveries, including ten boundaries. Her partnership with Healy helped Australia to take the lead in the innings.

Harmanpreet Kaur also dismissed Alyssa Healy soon after Tahila McGrath. Healy tried to sweep Harmanpreet, but missed the ball, and then was struck low on the pads. She was right in front of the wickets. The Australian skipper played a fine hand of 32 runs in the innings.

Australia lead by 46 at end of day three

Australia has a lead of 46 runs at the loss of five wickets at the end of day three of the one-off Test match against India at Wankhede. They have put on 233 runs on the board, with Tahila McGrath as the leading scorer so far. Annabel Sutherland and Ashleigh Gardner were unbeaten at the end of the day’s play for the visitors. Meanwhile, Sneh Rana and Harmanpreet Kaur have picked up two wickets each for India with Richa Ghosh running out Australian opener Beth Mooney.
