England’s white-ball captain, Harry Brook, who recently impressed with the bat during the five-Test series against India, is now showcasing his talents in the Hundred. On Thursday (August 7), he turned out for the Northern Superchargers against Welsh Fire at Headingley in Leeds, where he played a key role in his team’s 8-wicket victory by scoring an unbeaten 25 off just 15 balls.
Before stepping in to bat at No. 4 during the 144-run chase, the 26-year-old grabbed attention with a sensational display in the field. On the 88th ball of the match, Brook pulled off a stunning diving catch to dismiss Saif Zaib, off the bowling of Imad Wasim. A widely shared video shows Brook leaping through the air to take a stunning one-handed catch.

Brook, who took over from Jos Buttler as England’s white-ball captain in May 2025, is eager to deliver strong performances both with the bat and in the field in the upcoming matches for the Northern Superchargers, aiming to lead them to their maiden Hundred title.
Brook Shines In The Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy
Harry Brook featured in all five Tests for England during the 2025 edition of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, amassing 481 runs across nine innings. His tally included two centuries (158 and 111) and two half-centuries (99 and 53). In the series opener at Headingley, held from June 20 to 24, he scored 99 runs in the first innings before being dismissed for a duck in the second.
During the second Test in Birmingham, Brook delivered a brilliant knock of 158 in the first innings and shared a massive 303-run partnership for the sixth wicket with wicketkeeper-batter Jamie Smith, who remained unbeaten on 184. However, despite their efforts, England suffered a heavy defeat by a record margin of 336 runs.
Brook struggled with the bat in the third and fourth Tests, managing just 11, 23, and 3 runs. However, he bounced back strongly in the final Test (July 31–August 4), scoring 53 in the first innings and a brilliant 111 off 98 balls in the second while chasing 374. His impressive performances earned him England’s Player of the Series in their first home series of the 2025–27 WTC cycle.
