[WATCH]- Indian Team Lands In Perth Ahead Of The ODI Series

The Indian cricket team touched down in Perth on October 16 after facing several hours of flight delays. The Shubman Gill-led side, which had departed from Delhi early on October 15, reached their Perth hotel around 4 am. Reports from Australia indicated that the delay originated in Delhi, where the flight departed nearly four hours behind schedule.

This initial delay also affected the connecting flight in Singapore, resulting in the team arriving in Perth in the early hours. Key players, including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and KL Rahul, were part of the first batch to land. India is set to face Mitchell Marsh’s team in a series comprising 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is, starting October 19.

Indian cricket journalist Vimal Kumar noted that Perth airport had tight security, prompting some fans to wait outside India’s team hotel hoping to see their favourite players. However, as it was late at night, the exhausted Indian cricketers went straight to their rooms, leaving little opportunity for photos or interactions with the waiting fans.

Kohli And Rohit To Shine As India Take On Australia In ODIs

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are expected to be the key draws as India face Australia in the ODI series. The matches will be held in Perth, Adelaide, and Sydney, after which the team will shift focus to preparing for the T20 World Cup.

India head coach Gautam Gambhir expressed his hope that veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli enjoy a successful series in Australia. Shubman Gill also offered encouraging words, wishing that both players perform freely without the pressures of leadership.

The series kicks off on Sunday, with subsequent matches scheduled in Adelaide on October 23 and Sydney on October 25. This will be followed by a five-match T20 International series starting October 29.
