[WATCH] India’s Veteran Leg Spinner Bowls A Beauty In His County Championship Debut
Yuzvendra Chahal bowls a beauty in his county debut

The Indian leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal produced a dream delivery in his County Championship debut for Kent against Nottinghamshire in Canterbury on 11th September 2023. He was not selected in the 15-member squad to play in the Indian squad for 50 over the World Cup.

Kent made 446 runs in the first innings with Zak Crawley the top scorer with 158. It was a superb batting effort by Kent’s batting lineup as they put enough pressure on the opponent bowlers. Kent ended the first day in a strong position at 387 for 4.

The second was a better bowling performance by Nottinghamshire skittling out Kent for 446. Yuzvendra Chahal showed his class with some lovely deliveries putting enough pressure on the opponent batters. He took the wicket of Matthew Montgomery with an easy catch to Leaning.

Chahal then produced a superb delivery that pitched on the middle stump but turned away beating James outside edge and hitting the timber leaving Nottinghamshire in massive trouble at 174 for 6. He got the wicket of Calvin Harrison picking his 3rd scalp. It was a superb spell by Chahal ending the day with figures of 3 for 52 in 20 overs going at an economy of 2.60 runs per over. Kent left Nottinghamshire struggling at 219 for 8 still trailing by 227 runs.

Chahal looked like the threatening bowler after being not included in the squad for WC 2023. He bowled with great control and showed his class hoping for a 5-wicket haul when they take field on the 3rd day.

Yuzvendra Chahal Not Included in 15 Member Squad for WC 2023

Yuzvendra Chahal has not been included in the 15-member squad for the 2023 World Cup starting in India from 5th October. He did not play during the 2021 T20 World Cup played in the United Arab Emirates. After that, Chahal was included in the squad but was not given a chance during the 2022 T20 World Cup played in Australia where India lost during the semi-finals against England by 10 wickets.

The leg spinner has played a key role in limited overs format along with Kuldeep Yadav. Due to a lack of wickets, his performances have dipped and dropped from the squad.
