India’s vice-captain and wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was spotted undergoing throwdown sessions in the nets despite dealing with a finger injury. This took place on Day 2 (Friday, July 11) of the third Test of the ongoing five-match series against England at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
The 27-year-old cricketer sustained the injury to his left index finger during the second session of Day 1 while performing his wicketkeeping duties. The incident occurred on the very first delivery of the 34th over in England’s first innings, bowled by India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah.
Though he was clearly in some discomfort, Pant managed to complete the over before handing over the gloves to Dhruv Jurel. Ahead of Day 2, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued an official update, stating that Pant had not yet fully recovered. The medical staff continues to assess his condition and is keeping a close watch on his recovery.

Bumrah spearheaded the Indian bowling attack, claiming five wickets as England were eventually dismissed for 387 in 112.3 overs.
