Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan was seen dancing to the Bollywood track Afghan Jalebi from the film Phantomto celebrate the Men in Blue’s victory over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2026 on Sunday. Pathan shared a video of his dance on Instagram, expressing his excitement after the defending champions secured a comprehensive win.

Here is the post shared by Irfan Pathan on Instagram, where he wrote:

“Kaisa raha Sunday? (How was the Sunday?)”

After choosing to bowl first at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Pakistan made a strong start by dismissing Abhishek Sharma for a duck in the opening over. However, Ishan Kishan counterattacked with a brilliant 77 off 40 balls to steady the innings and put India in control.

He received support from Tilak Varma (25), Suryakumar Yadav (32), and Shivam Dube (27), as India posted 175/7 in their 20 overs. In reply, the defending champions struck early with the ball, removing Pakistan’s top four batters cheaply.

Usman Khan top-scored with 44, while Shadab Khan (14), Faheem Ashraf (10), and Shaheen Shah Afridi (23) were the only other players to reach double digits. Pakistan were bowled out for 114 in 18 overs, falling short by 61 runs.

For India, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, and Varun Chakaravarthy claimed two wickets each. With this result, Pakistan have now suffered eight defeats in nine T20 World Cup matches against their arch-rivals.

Team India Secure Super 8 Qualification From Group A

India have emerged as the first team from Group A to secure a place in the Super 8 stage. Prior to their win over their arch-rivals, they had registered convincing victories against the USA by 29 runs and Namibia by 93 runs.

The defending champions will aim to maintain their unbeaten run when they take on the Netherlands on Wednesday, February 18, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Meanwhile, Pakistan must overcome Namibia on Wednesday to keep their hopes alive. A loss for the Men in Green would bring their tournament journey to an end.
