[WATCH] Ishan Kishan Dons Bowling Cap for Nottinghamshire

Star India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan was having a field day in the whites as he scored two half-centuries in two games as he represented Nottinghamshire in the County Championship. In one of the games, Ishan was found to be performing the imitation of a former India spinner known as Harbhajan Singh on the field.

Ishan bowled over the wicket in his first County Championship ball, emulating the Harbhajan-style arm action, bowling to Tom Kohler-Cadmore (who had scored 146). Ishan bowled 1 over, ending up with 0/1.

Somerset chose to bat, which saw them score 379 in the match. Nottinghamshire replied with an enormous 509, and that was thanks to Ben Slater and Jack Haynes, both of whom scored centuries. A brilliant 77 was provided by Ishan. Jack Leach took six wickets. Haynes reached a half-century off only 92 balls and was joined by a much more attacking partner in Ishan, who punished a delivery bowled by Matt Henry over fine leg with an otherwise vicious pull shot to raise 250.

At lunch the scoreboard was 325/4, Ishan scoring a fifty off 83 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Somerset would get two hard chances to put themselves on the board when Ishan provided low diving opportunities to wicketkeeper Rew down the leg side off Kasey Alridge and Craig Overton at slip off Archie Vaughan. Nottinghamshire even appeared destined to pick up their third batting point, having gotten to 347/4 with five balls left of the 110th over.

Ishan had edged a Leach delivery into his front pad and offered a simple short-leg catch to Tom Abell to fall on the fifth wicket at the score of 138 against Leach. In the second innings, Tom Kohler-Cadmore played on 147 to the end of the game, which was a draw. The numbers of Ishan are 1-0-1-0.

Ishan also bowled in the second innings, and he tried new tricks like leg spin around the wicket. Though he did not grab any wicket, the bowling stint yielded another avenue in the game of Ishan. It was draw and both teams shared the points.
