England pacer James Anderson removed Virat Kohli for a first-ball duck on day two of the first Test in Trent Bridge. In a matter of six balls, Andeson has swung the match in England’s favour post-lunch. He first dismissed Cheteshwar Pujara with a ball that just left him after pitching. It was Virat Kohli who walked out to bat next as the world waited for the Kohli-Anderson clash.
It was a peach of a delivery from James Anderson. It pitched up in that corridor outside off and then nips away ever so slightly that draws Virat Kohli into the forward push. He does so with an angled bat, which meant he couldn’t cover for the movement and found and it flies through to the keeper Jos Buttler.
Brilliant stuff from the veteran fast bowler as he takes things back to 2014 where he bamboozled Virat Kohli with similar kind of deliveries. The veteran England pacer then bowled just outside the off-stump forcing Kohli to play at it as the Indian keeper just fended it off to the keeper. It was for the first time that Anderson dismissed Kohli since the 2014 tour.

Cheteswar Pujara(4) and Virat Kohli (0) fell for low scores. Kohli fell in the 41st over of the Indian innings and Ajinkya Rahane was run-out in the 44th over to make matters worse for Team India.
Anderson made the ball talk in the first session but remained wicketless. Post lunch, he was back to his best dismissing the two best batsmen of the Indian team to peg them back in the Test match. Rahane’s run-out was due to a bad call from KL Rahul who refrained from running after making the initial call. Rahane meanwhile, was halfway through as a throw from Jonny Bairstow hit the wickets directly as the Indian vice-captain fell short.
