Watch – Jasprit Bumrah And Marco Jansen Engage In War Of Words On Day 3

Team India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was seen engaged in a verbal exchange with South African speedster Marco Jansen during India’s second innings at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. Meanwhile, the visitors have set a 240-run target with almost two and a half days of cricket left.

The incident occurred in the afternoon session when Bumrah was facing Jansen. The young left-arm pacer delivered a couple of hostile bouncers at Jasprit Bumrah. Despite being early in his international career, Marco Jansen didn’t shy away from posing challenges to the opposition batters.

Jansen gave a cold stare at Bumrah which didn’t go down well with Jasprit Bumrah. The Indian pacer, who is usually known to have a calm head, got pumped up and pointed towards Jansen, asking him to come for a quick chat on the pitch.

However, the on-field umpires intervened soon enough to avoid further altercations. The two did exchange a few words before Lungi Ngidi got the better of Jasprit Bumrah.

The visiting side rode on to a brilliant 111-run stand between Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane to get off to a flying start in the morning session of day 5. But both of them perished after reaching their individual half-centuries. Rishabh Pant also followed the suit playing a rash shot off Kagiso Rabada.

Just when things were going downside for India, Shardul Thakur rose to the occasion this time with the bat. It was with the ball on day 2, where he added some quick runs with his aggressive batting alongside Hanuma Vihari today.

While Marcos Jansen and Kagiso Rabada picked some crucial wickets but they couldn’t manage to take down Vihari. He played a gritty knock, and as a result of his knock of 40, India have managed to set a target of 240 runs, which will not be easy for South Africa to chase down.
