Mumbai Indians (MI) pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah produced a lethal toe-crushing to knock off Liam Livingstone on Wednesday at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium. The five-time IPL champions have made a crucial turnaround in the game and will hope to continue it in the last five years.
Asked to bat first, skipper Mayank Agarwal gave Punjab Kings off to a rollicking start. He took on the Mumbai bowlers while Shikhar Dhawan was happy to play the second fiddle. But the time he got out after a 32-ball 52, Punjab were at 97 in just 9.3 overs.
The dismissal brought Jonny Bairstow in the middle, who struggled to get going. He managed to score only 12 runs off just 13 balls before Jaydev Unadkat cleaned him, which brought Liam Livingstone in the middle.
Livingstone, who has been in scintillating form in IPL 2022, was only in his third ball when Bumrah unleashed a beast. In the 3rd ball of the 15th over, Jasprit Bumrah skidded right under the bat and foot of Liam Livingstone.
The Mumbai pacer came wide of the crease and with that angle in, the ball came swerving in at the middle and leg-stumps. It was too good for Livingstone who fails to dig it out. Jasprit Bumrah is pumped up which was clearly visible on his face.

“We keep on fighting” – Jasprit Bumrah on Mumbai Indians’ poor start to IPL 2022
Mumbai Indians are off to an awful start in IPL 2022, losing all their four games so far in the tournament. They have lacked the right balance with senior cricketers failing to lead the side from the front.
Throwing light on the same, Jasprit Bumrah reckoned that every side goes through a transition and they are working hard to bounce back. Incidentally, Mumbai Indians have been in this sort of situation before and have come back strong.
“Yes things have not gone according to plan so far, but we keep on fighting and keep on finding the way. That is the way the game of cricket works. Whenever a challenge comes, we try to find solutions to the challenge. We are trying to do that,” Bumrah said in a media release shared by the franchise.
“We are not focusing too far ahead, we just focusing on what we can do in the next match and start ticking the things and start hoping things should click and we should move forward,” he added.
