Team India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal had a dismal outing in the first innings of the second Test against South Africa on Wednesday, January 3 at the Newlands in Cape Town. He was dismissed by Kagiso Rabada with a brilliant delivery for a duck. India was bowled out for 153 runs in the innings.
In the third over of the Indian innings, Kagiso Rabada bowled a short of a length delivery around the off-stump. Jaiswal hung back in his crease and tried to defend it. However, he misjudged the bounce and got late to bring the bat down. The ball took the inner edge and went on to deflect onto the stumps. The opener had to walk back to the pavilion for a seven-ball duck.

Team India took a lead of 98 runs in the first innings of the second Test against South Africa on Wednesday, January 3 at the Newlands in Cape Town. They were bowled out for 153 runs in response to South Africa’s first innings score of 55 runs. Virat Kohli played a fine knock of 46 runs, including six boundaries and a six. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill also got starts, but couldn’t capitalise on them. However, the visitors suffered a huge lower-order collapse to get bowled out. Earlier in the match, Dean Elgar, the stand-in skipper for the Test, won the toss and opted to bat first. The South African batters couldn’t survive Mohammed Siraj’s fiery spell and were bowled out for a paltry 55. Keeper batter Kyle Verreynne was the leading scorer with 15 runs. Siraj took a six-wicket haul in the innings conceding 15 runs in nine overs. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar picked up two wickets each.
