Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) cricketer Venkatesh Iyer was recently spotted imitating WWE superstar Undertaker’s signature move. The franchise shared a short clip across all their social media handles.

The KKR camp is currently in a light mood after they thrashed Punjab Kings (PBKS), riding on an absolute carnage from ace all-rounder Andre Russell. The cricketers are seen having fun among each other pulling each other’s leg.

On Monday, KKR shared a funny clip of Venkatesh Iyer being supposedly irritated by a photographer. He then channels the inner wrestler in himself and “slams” the lensman. The Kolkata franchise captioned the video as:

“@venkatesh.iyer2512 unleashing his inner Undertaker!”

The video garnered a lot of reactions on social media and went viral immediately it landed on social media.

Meanwhile, Venkatesh Iyer has been an integral part of the KKR sauad since the second half of IPL 2021. He played a crucial role in the franchise reaching the finals, scoring 370 runs in 10 matches.

Eventually, he was retained by the Kolkata franchise ahead of the auction. However, Venkatesh Iyer hasn’t made a confident start to IPL 2022. The 27-year-old has been dismissed for 16, 10 and 3 in KKR’s three outings in the tournament so far.

“He has not looked the same player” – Aakash Chopra on Venkatesh Iyer

The all-rounder from Madhya Pradesh, who grabbed eyeballs in IPL 2021 that led to his international debut, has been just a shadow of the past. Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra also raised concerns about the 28-year-old all-rounder’s current form.

“The way KKR batted, it left all of us a little befuddled because they were expected to bat better than that… Venkatesh Iyer just did not look the part. There have been two innings now and he has not looked the same player,” said Aakash on his official YouTube channel.

Venkatesh Iyer will hope to hit the strides during KKR next tie against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune on April 6.
