The Indian test team is gearing up for the five-match Test series against England, starting from August 4. Ahead of that, India’s wicket-keeper batsman KL Rahul participated in a fun segment answering questions related to his phone.

In a video released on Twitter by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, KL Rahul revealed his favourite selfie pose, the emoji he uses the most, and more.

“I think there is a picture from 2014 December, Melbourne, Boxing Day when I received my test cap. The picture of me kissing my first cap,” KL Rahul said mentioning an Instagram post that is close to his heart.

Rahul said that the first thing he checks on his phone after waking up in the morning is Team India’s Whatsapp group.

“The first thing I do when I wake up is to switch off the alarm and then check the Team India group because there is always something on that, what time the bus leaves or if there is a delay or something. So we always check that.”

It’s Mirabai Chalu. I clicked it on TV,” said Rahul showing the recently clicked picture on his mobile.

Speaking further, KL Rahul also highlighted the importance of playing red-ball cricket. Speaking on bcci.tv, Rahul stressed:

“Always good to get runs in the white kit but it’s been a while since I played red-ball game and it just teaches you important teachings and lessons.”

KL Rahul gear up with a century in India’s first warm-up match

KL Rahul, who was keeping the wickets for India in the absence of Rishabh Pant, has an opportunity to feature in India’s playing XI for the Test series as the regular opener Shubhman Gill has been ruled out due to injury.

In India’s first of the two warm-up matches against County Select XI last week at Durham, KL Rahul led the batting attack with a brilliant hundred along with Ravindra Jadeja. Rahul scored 101 off 150 deliveries before retiring out, while Jadeja contributed 75 runs in the first innings and 51 in the second. Umesh Yadav was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets. The warm-up match ended in a draw.
