Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and opener KL Rahul combined to dismiss the well-settled Tagenarine Chanderpaul during the final session on Day 2 of the second Test at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. Rahul took a juggling catch at slip to end a 66-run partnership for the second wicket in the first innings.
West Indies had looked comfortable after losing John Campbell through an unusual dismissal early on. Chanderpaul and Alick Athanaze attacked the Indian spinners to build momentum, putting together the visitors’ first 50-run stand of the series.
Jadeja had initially trapped Chanderpaul LBW in the 26th over, but a last-second review overturned the decision as ball tracking showed the ball missing the stumps. Chanderpaul then launched a brilliant six off Jadeja’s next over but was dismissed just two deliveries later. He prodded forward against a full-pitched delivery that turned back in, edging it to KL Rahul at first slip.
Rahul got under the ball by turning to his left, causing it to lob up. He failed to secure the catch on the first attempt as it slipped slightly, but managed to control the second juggle and complete the catch, breaking the partnership. You can watch the video here:

Jadeja Claims Chanderpaul Twice In 2023 WI vs IND Tests
This is the third time in his Test career that West Indies opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul has been dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja. The left-handed batter was twice taken by the experienced spinner during the 2023 home series.
Chanderpaul fell for 7 in the second innings of the first Test at Windsor Park and for 33 in the first innings of the second Test at Queen’s Park Oval, as West Indies suffered a 0-1 series defeat.
