Virat Kohli sparked concern among fans after asking Sanju Samson to check his heartbeat during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Sunday. To counter the challenging batting conditions, Kohli took a physically intense approach during his half-century.
His knock featured 24 singles, three doubles, four boundaries, and two sixes. The chase master delivered once again as Kohli led RCB to a nine-wicket win. He played a steady role at the start of the innings while Phil Salt launched a fiery attack, smashing five fours and six sixes in his quickfire fifty.
Although Kumar Kartikeya provided a breakthrough, Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal calmly guided RCB to victory, with Padikkal scoring a brisk 40. Kohli had an early let-off when Riyan Parag dropped a straightforward catch at mid-off off Sandeep Sharma’s slower delivery, but the RCB star quickly regained composure and anchored the chase.

He reached his milestone 100th T20 fifty in style, stepping out to loft Wanindu Hasaranga straight down the ground for a boundary. The 15th over, which went for 14 runs, reduced the equation to just 28 needed off 30 balls, all but confirming the outcome.
Kohli Hits 100th T20 Fifty as Jaiswal Shines on Tough Pitch with Composed Knock
Virat Kohli now boasts 100 fifties and nine centuries in 405 T20 appearances. Earlier in the match, 23-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal impressed with 10 boundaries and two sixes, handling the sluggish surface with composure while others found it tough.
After carefully navigating the tight spells from Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, and Yash Dayal, Jaiswal opened up in the fifth over, hitting a six and a four off Dayal. He brought up his second fifty of the season in 35 balls and shared a 56-run partnership with Riyan Parag (30 off 18) in just 39 deliveries.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will face their next challenge against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
