Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) all-rounder Krunal Pandya pulled off a brilliant catch to dismiss Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shreyas Iyer during their IPL 2025 match on Sunday (April 20) at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur.
PBKS started strong with 41 runs in the first four overs before Priyansh Arya (22 off 15) was caught in the deep. Skipper Shreyas Iyer came in but looked uncertain, edging one early. In the eighth over, Iyer mistimed a fuller delivery from Romario Shepherd, sending it in the air. Krunal Pandya sprinted in from long on and completed a fine catch after covering significant ground.

Shreyas Iyer became the third wicket to fall for PBKS, departing after a sluggish 6 off 10 balls. Nehal Wadhera took his place at the crease with the team at 68/3 in 7.4 overs.
Punjab Kings aim to recover after losing four wickets
After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, RCB saw PBKS openers put on 42 runs for the first wicket in under five overs. The home side reached 62 in the first six overs, but the dismissal of Prabhsimran Singh (33 off 17) right after the powerplay triggered a collapse.
Following Iyer’s wicket, Nehal Wadhera (5 off 6) was run out, and Josh Inglis and Marcus Stoinis fell to Suyash Sharma’s leg spin. At the time of writing, PBKS were 114/6 after 14 overs, with Shashank Singh and Marco Jansen at the crease.
As of now, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) are ranked 2nd in the IPL 2025 points table with 10 points from 7 matches, securing 5 wins and 2 losses. Their net run rate (NRR) stands at +0.308. Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) next match in IPL 2025 is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025, against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata
