[WATCH]- “Main Nahi De Sakta Hu Yeh Call”- Rohit Sharma And Shreyas Iyer In Mid-Over Run Dispute

During their partnership in the second ODI against Australia at Adelaide Oval on Thursday, October 23, Team India batsmen Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer were spotted arguing over a potential single. The duo added 118 runs for the third wicket following another early collapse caused by Australia’s pace attack in this must-win encounter.

Both Rohit and Iyer had to navigate a challenging phase on a tricky pitch, facing bowlers like Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Xavier Bartlett. With runs hard to come by, the Indians were eager to take every run possible. Earlier, Rohit had narrowly avoided a run-out with Shubman Gill after a mix-up and late call.

In that instance, the opener managed a desperate dive to get his bat over the crease just in time, successfully evading the direct hit. In the 14th over, a delivery from Josh Hazlewood struck Rohit Sharma on the pads before rolling to the off-side near the pitch. Rohit looked to take a single but held back after not receiving a call from his partner at the non-striker’s end.

Once the chance for the run had passed, a frustrated Rohit asked Shreyas Iyer why he hadn’t called. Iyer responded that it wasn’t his call to make. The exchange was picked up by the stump mic as the Mumbai batsmen tried to get on the same page. You can watch the video here:

Rohit Sharma And Shreyas Iyer Fall Within Three Overs

Rohit Sharma overcame a slow start by gradually accelerating to register his 59th ODI half-century. He displayed glimpses of his classic style with some signature pull shots but was unable to convert his innings into a big score, eventually falling for 73 off 97 balls.

Shreyas Iyer, meanwhile, paced the innings smartly, taking charge especially against the spinners. His innings was cut short when he was bowled by Adam Zampa immediately after hitting a boundary in the 33rd over.
