Veteran batter Manish Pandey has returned to the Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the 2024 Indian Premier League season. He kicked off his preparations for the tournament along the squad and also took on Andre Russell during the practice match on Sunday, March 17 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Manish Pandey represented the Delhi Capitals in the 2023 Indian Premier League season. Ahead of the 2024 edition, the Kolkata Knight Riders signed Manish for his base price of INR 50 Lakhs. He has previously represented the franchise from 2014 to 2017 and also won a title with them. The franchise shared a video from their training session featuring Manish Pandey. The veteran batter deposited Andre Russell’s delivery over long-on for a six.
Sharing the post on Instagram, the Kolkata Knight Riders wrote, “Pandey Ji just getting started 🔥 Manish Pandey | #AmiKKR | #TATAIPL2024 | #RukengeNahiJhukengeNahi”. Reacting to the video, Andre Russell wrote,
“I don’t like this 🙄🙄🙄🙄 guys nope nope nope!!!”

Manish Pandey had a great outing in the warm-up match for the Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the 2024 Indian Premier League season. He slammed a half-century, scoring 51 runs off 24 deliveries. Meanwhile, Andre Russell slammed 35 runs from 14 deliveries. Phil Salt and Nitish Rana also scored half-centuries in the match. Salt scored 78 runs off 41 balls, making an impact in the warm-up match.

The Kolkata Knight Riders will kick off their 2024 Indian Premier League season against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host the clash on Saturday, March 23. The upcoming edition will see the return of Shreyas Iyer, who missed the last season due to injury.
