[WATCH]- Mohammed Siraj Removes Ruturaj Gaikwad Right After Being Hit for a Six in GT vs CSK Clash

Gujarat Titans pacer Mohammed Siraj dismissed Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad in the IPL 2026 match in Ahmedabad on Thursday, May 21, just one ball after being hit for a six in his second over. Gaikwad scored 16 runs off seven deliveries before CSK slipped to 29/2 in 2.2 overs.

The wicket came when Siraj delivered a back-of-a-length ball around off stump. Gaikwad failed to judge the bounce and length properly as the ball went under his bat and crashed into the off stump. You can watch the video here:

With this dismissal, Ruturaj Gaikwad registered his third straight low score, following knocks of 15 and 13 in his previous two innings. Overall, he has scored 337 runs in 14 matches this season, including two half-centuries.

Mohammed Siraj Rattles CSK Top Order as GT Push Rivals Towards Elimination

A brilliant spell from Mohammed Siraj put Gujarat Titans in complete control against Chennai Super Kings in their IPL 2026 clash. Along with dismissing Ruturaj Gaikwad, Siraj also removed Sanju Samson and Urvil Patel for ducks. At the time of writing, CSK were struggling at 52/4 after 5.2 overs, with Kartik Sharma and Dewald Brevis at the crease.

Earlier, after being asked to bat first, GT posted a massive 229/4 in 20 overs. Sai Sudharsan led the charge with 84 off 53 balls, including seven fours and four sixes. Captain Shubman Gill scored 64 off 37 deliveries, while Jos Buttler remained unbeaten on 57 from 27 balls.

Sudharsan was involved in key partnerships of 125 runs for the opening wicket and 82 runs for the second wicket. For CSK, Mukesh Choudhary, Spencer Johnson, and Anshul Kamboj picked up one wicket each. A defeat would end CSK’s IPL 2026 campaign. The five-time champions have won six of their 13 matches so far.

Meanwhile, GT entered the match in second place with 16 points from 13 games. A victory could help GT strengthen their hold on second place or even move above defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru to the top of the table, depending on net run rate.

However, RCB still have one league match remaining against Lucknow Super Giants on May 23, and the side led by Rajat Patidar can finish with a maximum of 20 points.
