Former Indian wicketkeeper-batter and cricket legend MS Dhoni was recently seen driving his car through the streets of Ranchi following the end of IPL 2025. Dhoni, who represented Chennai Super Kings in the latest season, has been spending time in his hometown of Jharkhand since the tournament concluded.

Lately, he was spotted behind the wheel of his black Citroën Basalt, wearing a sleeveless blue t-shirt. As he drove through the city, fans gathered around and expressed their admiration, calling out that they were his biggest supporters. Dhoni acknowledged their love with a smile and a one-handed wave from inside his car.

He was recently seen at a gym in Ranchi, spending time with Saurabh Tiwary’s young son, sharing a light moment during his workout. The veteran cricketer looked relaxed and cheerful, engaging warmly with the child. The moment quickly went viral, delighting fans and showcasing his bond with former teammates’ families.

MS Dhoni Captained Chennai Super Kings In IPL 2025

MS Dhoni, who had stepped down as CSK captain after guiding the team to their fifth IPL title in 2023, returned to lead the side during the 2025 season. Initially, Ruturaj Gaikwad was at the helm, but an injury after the first few matches ruled him out, prompting Dhoni’s comeback as skipper.

Ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, Dhoni was retained by Chennai Super Kings for ₹4 crore under the ‘uncapped player’ category. Despite his return, CSK’s performance remained below expectations, marking their poorest season yet as they finished at the bottom of the points table.

The team managed only four wins in 14 matches, ending the season with just eight points. After the campaign, Dhoni confirmed that Ruturaj would resume captaincy next year. However, it remains uncertain whether Dhoni himself will be part of the 2026 season.
