MS Dhoni six hitting pratice

MS Dhoni was seen practising sixes during training ahead of the 16th edition of IPL. Chennai Super Kings is known as one of the most popular franchises in the prestigious Indian Premier League history with 4 titles.

During the 2022 IPL, Chennai Super Kings had a disappointing season finishing 9th. Dhoni and Co would be hoping to showcase their domination. CSK bought star all-rounder Ben Stokes, Kyle Jamieson, and a few Under 19 stars.

However, he struggled a lot with the bat in the 2022 edition of the IPL. CSK captain would be hoping to sign off in style as it could be his last IPL season considering his age. It was a disappointing season for CSK captain MS Dhoni last year with 232 runs from 14 matches only with 1 half-century in the opening match against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Dhoni has played a total of 239 matches scoring 4978 runs with a career-best score of 84 not out. He captained Rising Pune Supergiants after CSK was banned for 2 years. During his IPL career, Dhoni has hit 229 sixes and would be hoping to add more in the upcoming season for CSK. During last year’s edition, Dhoni only hit 10 sixes and did not look good with his power-hitting. CSK would be hoping that Dhoni shows his old hitting abilities so that they can win a record 5th title.

MS Dhoni is smashing well

Under the captaincy of Dhoni, CSK has won 4 titles. They won back-to-back titles in 2010 and 2011. After being banned for 2 years, Dhoni and Co won the IPL title in grand style during the 2018 edition.

After not qualifying for the playoff stage in the 2020 edition, MS Dhoni’s captaincy helped CSK win the title for a record fourth time in 2021. It will be a fitting farewell for Dhoni if the most popular franchise in IPL history could win the title again in a few months time.

They finished runners-up in the inaugural edition of IPL in 2008, semi-finalists in the 2009 edition, and runners-up in 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2019 editions. CSK has played a total of 209 matches with 121 wins, 86 losses, 1 tied loss, and 1 no-result with a win percentage of 58.41.
