MS Dhoni, the Indian veteran, recently showed up at a friend Surender Kumar’s birthday celebration, in Ranchi. Kumar is a tennis coach and Dhoni graced the celebrations with his presence. The former India captain spent time with Kumar’s family on his special day.
Numerous social media users shared the photographs and videos of Dhoni, where the former Indian wicketkeeper batter can be seen standing next to Kumar’s family members, during the cake-cutting ceremony.

Besides, Surender Kumar is the former gold medalist at the Asian Games. Currently, he is serving as a coach at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association’s Tennis Academy in Ranchi. He shares a decent friendship with Dhoni and the two often play tennis with each other.
Dhoni to lead CSK in 2023 season
Dhoni was last seen in action during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 edition, earlier this year. Although Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had to endure one of the toughest runs in the history of the tournament, Dhoni seemed to be in his prime. The 40-year-old played some really vital knocks for the franchise.
Dhoni, overall, scored 232 runs in 13 innings, at an average of 33.14 and a strike rate of 132.98. The best of him came in the tournament opener against finalists from the 2021 edition, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Dhoni scored an unbeaten knock of 50 runs in 38 deliveries, although his efforts ended up in a losing cause, his contribution aided the men in yellow to put on a respectable total.
Also, Dhoni was not the one who was supposed to lead CSK, as he had handed the position to Ravindra Jadeja, ahead of the 2022 edition. Later on, due to both, team and individual performance, Jadeja left the role and Dhoni had to undertake the charge again.
Moreover, Dhoni has confirmed that he will be leading the side in the 2023 season too, as it is not fair for the CSK fans if he retires before making one more appearance on the team’s home ground, believes Dhoni.
