Punjab Kings (PBKS) revealed their updated jersey for the upcoming IPL 2024 season in a lavish event held at the Elante Mall in Chandigarh on Saturday (March 16). The franchise owners, along with captain Shikhar Dhawan and several players, attended the event.

Adding a touch of blue to their traditional red attire, the 2014 IPL runners-up introduced their revamped jersey for the forthcoming season. PBKS provided fans with a sneak peek of the jersey through videos and a picture shared on their official X handle.

Addressing the new jersey during the event, PBKS captain Shikhar Dhawan remarked:

“The love and passion of the sher squad is infectious and it is hard for me to put in words how happy I am to be back here. We have an exciting team this season that will give everything on the pitch as we look forward to don the vibrant new jersey and play at the new home ground in front of all of you.”

PBKS will kick off their IPL 2024 campaign on March 23 with a match against DC.

Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan anticipates that their new stadium in Mullanpur will serve as a fortunate omen for the team in IPL 2024.

Throughout IPL history, the Kings have been considered one of the most inconsistent teams. While they reached the semifinals in 2008, they only managed to replicate that success once more in 2014 when they finished as runners-up.

During the jersey launch event in Chandigarh, Dhawan expressed his admiration for the jersey and his anticipation for the team’s campaign. As reported by India Today, the seasoned player stated:

“The new jersey has new details and everyday is a new day and you come up with new ideas. We always look forward to positive vibes ahead of the tournament.”

“The new stadium will be our lucky charm. We are trying to think positively. We are very grateful to Mohali and we thank the Mohali stadium, its groundsmen.”

The franchise from Punjab begins their campaign against Delhi Capitals on March 23 in Mullanpur.
