In the IPL 2024 match at Eden Gardens, Kolkata Knight Riders’ wicketkeeper-batsman Phil Salt pulled off an incredible catch to dismiss Lucknow Super Giants’ all-rounder Marcus Stoinis. Stoinis was dismissed for just 10 runs off five balls due to the spectacular catch. With this dismissal, the Knight Riders also limited the Super Giants to 95/4 after 11.4 overs.
The dismissal occurred in the 12th over of Lucknow Super Giants’ innings. Varun Chakaravarthy delivered a wrong’un, catching Stoinis off guard. Stoinis attempted to play it towards the leg side but ended up with a significant inside edge onto his thigh.
The ball popped towards the off-side. Salt maintained focus, shifted to his right, and jumped to secure a two-handed catch, completing the dismissal.

KKR has not yet defeated LSG in the IPL
The Knight Riders are aiming for their inaugural victory against LSG since the latter’s inception in 2022. They have suffered three consecutive defeats against the Super Giants. Lucknow clinched a thrilling one-run victory over Kolkata in their previous encounter last season.
In terms of IPL 2024, KKR currently holds the second position in the recent points table, securing three victories in four matches. While they achieved a hat-trick of wins, they faced defeat against Chennai Super Kings in their most recent match.
Meanwhile, Lucknow, currently in fourth place, has won three out of their initial five matches. They suffered a defeat to Rajasthan Royals in their season opener but bounced back with three consecutive victories.
However, the KL Rahul-led team faced a loss against Delhi Capitals in their recent match. Therefore, both teams will be eager to get back to winning form in the T20 tournament.
