[WATCH] Phil Salt’s Brilliant Boundary Catch Dismisses Priyansh Arya in IPL 2025 Final

In the high-stakes IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS), a moment of fielding brilliance from Phil Salt stole the show. Chasing a target of 191, PBKS opener Priyansh Arya attempted a well-timed pull shot off Josh Hazlewood. The left-handed batter looked set for a boundary, but Salt, stationed at deep square leg, sprinted over 10 meters and caught the ball with impressive agility.

With the boundary line fast approaching, Salt cleverly tossed the ball into the air, stepped back into the field of play, and completed the catch, avoiding a six and securing a crucial breakthrough. Arya’s promising innings of 24 runs from 19 balls, which included four boundaries, came to a sudden end. At the time of his dismissal, PBKS were 43/1 after five overs.

RCB Posts Strong Total with Balanced Batting Contributions

Earlier in the match, Royal Challengers Bengaluru set a competitive total of 190/9. Despite wickets falling at regular intervals, RCB maintained momentum through impactful cameos. Mayank Agarwal and skipper Rajat Patidar chipped in with useful knocks, while Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma provided the necessary acceleration during the middle and death overs.

Virat Kohli played a more anchoring role at the top, scoring 43 off 35 deliveries, including three boundaries. This collective effort ensured RCB had a defendable score in the final, giving their bowlers a strong platform.
