Ravindra Jadeja childhood has come from a very humble background. His father was a watchman for a private security agency and his mother passed away when he was merely 15-years-old. The ace cricketer has beaten all the odds to become one of the best all-rounders of the current generation.
In 2008, he was a part of the victorious team that won the U-19 World Cup under Virat Kohli. A year later, he debuted for India in the ODI format. He made his Test debut in 2012 and has represented India in 49 Tests so far. He has picked up 213 wickets and scored 1,869 runs including one hundred and fourteen fifties.
The all-rounder played a key role in the 2013 Champions Trophy where India emerged winners. He was the leading wicket-taker in the tournament and had won the ‘Golden Ball’ award. He has also played a leading role for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. With his ability to contribute to all the departments Jadeja is a go-to man for MS Dhoni.
Recently, he was rated as India’s most valuable Test player in the 21st century as per the Wisden magazine. Jadeja, with an MVP rating of 97.3 also rated as the 2nd most valuable Test player in the world.
