It was raining sixes in IPL 2022 Eliminator between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Wednesday at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Meanwhile, a policeman hurt himself while trying to catch a ball in the stands.
Chasing 208 runs, Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda went berserk after losing a couple of wickets at the top. They dispatched everything that was in their arc. Meanwhile, in the fifth delivery of the eighth over from Shahbaz Ahmed, Deepak Hooda launched a big heave over the cover region.
The ball went sailing into the stands. A policeman, who was on his duty, tried to catch the ball, which was hit with brute power. In the process, he hurt his hand. The officer was seen brimming in pain while one of his colleagues came to check on him.

Meanwhile, the Super Giants slowly succumbed to the scoreboard pressure. After KL Rahul perished in the 19th over after a knock of 78 runs off 58 deliveries, it was all over for the debutants. LSG eventually managed 193 runs in their 20 overs, thus falling short by 14 runs.
“We let ourselves down in the field” – KL Rahul after defeat vs RCB
The Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul lamented that poor efforts on the field cost them the must-win game against RCB. Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, he said:
“I think it’s quite obvious – the reasons why we didn’t win. We let ourselves down in the field. Dropping easy catches never helps. Difference was obviously Patidar playing such a knock. When someone in the top three scores a hundred, more often the team wins. They fielded really well and we were poor.”
