Lucknow Super Giants defeated Punjab Kings by 20 runs in the 42nd match of the ongoing season of Indian Premier League. Karnataka boy KL Rahul was playing against his former team Punjab Kings, led by Mayank Agarwal. Punjab won the toss and decided to field first.
This match witnessed a great example of sportsman spirit from South African WK Batsman Quinton De Kock. After being invited to bat first , Lucknow didn’t get a good start. They lost the early wicket of KL Rahul who was going through a purple patch in IPL 2022.
Quinton De Kock along with Deepak Hooda took LSG to a safe position. But in the 13th over of the game, Quinton De Kock tried to cut the slower ball of Sandeep Sharma. The ball took the edge of the bat and went straight into the hands of keeper Jitesh. Bowler appealed for caught behind but umpire didn’t raise his finger.
However, De Kock decided to walk off towards the dressing room despite the umpire not giving it out. Quinton showed a great example of sportsmanship here. He was absolutely honest. Fans on social media hailed De Kock for this act and praised his spirit of cricket. It was a heartwarming gesture by De Kock.

Hard Work paying off : Krunal Pandya
Krunal Pandya played a crucial role in this win of Lucknow Supergiants. He gave away just 11 runs in 4 overs and picked two crucial wickets of Rajapaksa and Jitesh while defending a small target. Krunal grabbed the man of the match award for his brilliant efforts. He said that he is working really hard and has been trying to vary his pace while bowling.
” For the last 7-8 months, I have been working hard. Special mention to Rahul Sanghvi. The results everyone can see as I have tried to improve skillwise. Lot of times when you are playing shorter formats you don’t realise a lot of things. I have been trying to increase my height with my release and some things on my grip.” said Krunal
