Rajasthan Royals (RR) recently shared a video featuring head coach Rahul Dravid engaging in shadow batting during the IPL 2025 season. Despite a disappointing campaign that saw RR miss out on the playoffs, Dravid remained with the team throughout.
He had sustained an injury prior to the tournament’s start and was seen moving around on crutches during the season. In the video, the former Indian captain is seen at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium, practicing a shadow cover drive while wearing his RR training kit.
Notably, Dravid is sporting a cast on his right leg as he continues to stay actively involved with the team.
“𝘒𝘪𝘥𝘴: 𝘞𝘩𝘰’𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘵? Those who grew up watching him: The Great Wall of India 🇮🇳,” RR captioned the post.

RR Fall Short Under Head Coach Rahul Dravid in IPL 2025
Rahul Dravid, who served as the head coach of the Indian senior men’s team, concluded his tenure after leading the Men in Blue to victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup. After completing his role with the national side, he returned to the Rajasthan Royals as their head coach for the IPL 2025 season.
With his valuable coaching experience and recent World Cup success, expectations were high for Dravid to make a significant impact. However, Rajasthan Royals struggled throughout the IPL 2025 campaign, failing to qualify for the playoffs and underperforming overall.
The team won only four out of 14 matches, losing ten and finishing ninth on the points table with just eight points. Despite the disappointing season, they ended on a positive note by securing a comfortable six-wicket victory against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
It remains to be seen whether the franchise will retain Rahul Dravid as head coach for the 2026 season.
