After being asked to bat first, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) put up a total of 190/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Virat Kohli led the batting effort with a composed 43 off 35 balls, while key contributions came from Mayank Agarwal (24), Rajat Patidar (26), Liam Livingstone (25), and Jitesh Sharma (24), helping RCB build a competitive total.

In response, Punjab Kings (PBKS) saw their top-order batters get off to promising starts but none could capitalize with a big score. With 72 runs needed from the last five overs, Shashank Singh fought hard with a brilliant unbeaten 61 off 30 deliveries. However, he lacked adequate support, and PBKS ultimately fell short by six runs, ending their innings at 184/7.

To commemorate their historic IPL victory, RCB will host an open-top bus parade in Bengaluru on Wednesday, June 4, starting at Vidhana Soudha and ending at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

RCB Vice-Captain Jitesh Sharma Dedicates Historic IPL 2025 Victory to Virat Kohli

After Royal Challengers Bengaluru clinched the IPL 2025 title with a win over Punjab Kings, team vice-captain Jitesh Sharma dedicated the historic victory to senior player Virat Kohli, who has been with the franchise since its inception in 2008.

In a post-match interview with the official broadcasters, Sharma expressed his sentiments, saying [as per ESPNcricinfo]:

“I can’t express myself at the moment. I am very happy for Virat bhai. He has waited to 18 years and I can understand what he can feel. When you feel this tournament for someone else, it becomes magical. When you play for yourself, you become a bit subdued. But when playing for someone else, it becomes great.”
