Ravindra Jadeja, the left-arm spinner for Rajasthan Royals, came up with a distinctive celebration after claiming the crucial wicket of Jos Buttler during the Indian Premier League 2026 clash against Gujarat Titans in Jaipur on Saturday, May 9. The 36-year-old appeared to signal his dominance over Buttler with a “pocket” celebration after the dismissal.
The wicket came when Jadeja delivered a fuller ball outside off stump, tempting Buttler into attempting a powerful shot straight down the ground. However, the GT batter failed to time it properly and ended up miscuing the ball towards Donovan Ferreira at long-off. According to Cricbuzz, it marked the third time Jadeja has dismissed Buttler in T20 cricket.

Jos Buttler was dismissed for 13 runs from 10 deliveries after arriving at the crease following a strong 118-run opening partnership between Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, but he was unable to capitalise on the solid platform. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja ended his spell with figures of 1/34 from his four overs.
Gujarat Titans Post Massive 229-Run Target Against Rajasthan Royals
A dominant batting performance from the opening pair helped Gujarat Titans post a formidable 229/4 after being put in to bat first by stand-in Rajasthan Royals captain Yashasvi Jaiswal in their Indian Premier League 2026 clash. Shubman Gill led from the front with a blistering 84 off 44 deliveries at a strike rate of 190.91, smashing three sixes and nine boundaries.
Alongside him, Sai Sudharsan contributed 55 runs from 36 balls, including two sixes and six fours. Later in the innings, Washington Sundar added valuable late runs with an unbeaten 37 off 20 balls, while Rahul Tewatia provided a quick cameo of 14 from just four deliveries. Tewatia struck two sixes off Tushar Deshpande in the final over, which produced 21 runs for GT.
For the Royals, Brijesh Sharma was the most successful bowler with figures of 2/47 in four overs, while Yash Raj Punja and Ravindra Jadeja claimed one wicket each. This was the second meeting between the two sides this season, with Rajasthan Royals having defeated Gujarat Titans by six runs in Ahmedabad last month.
The winner of the contest would move to the top of the IPL 2026 points table, depending on net run rate. RR entered the game aiming to bounce back after their defeat to Delhi Capitals, while GT looked to extend their impressive winning streak after securing three consecutive victories.
