Experienced Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja struck first for India, removing Ryan Rickelton as South Africa lost their opening wicket early in their second innings on Day 4 (Tuesday, November 25) of the second Test at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
The breakthrough came on the third delivery of the 19th over. Jadeja delivered a length ball, and Rickelton advanced down the pitch attempting to hit it over the on-side. However, he mistimed the shot off the leading edge, sending it to cover, where Mohammed Siraj completed a sharp catch.

South Africa Take Command With Big First-Innings Lead In Second Test
South Africa took control of the second Test after winning the toss and opting to bat, posting a massive 489 in their first innings. Senuran Muthusamy led the charge for the visitors, scoring his maiden Test century with 109 off 206 balls, including 10 fours and two sixes. Marco Jansen narrowly missed out on his first century, making 93 from 91 deliveries with six fours and seven sixes.
For India, Kuldeep Yadav was the standout bowler, claiming four wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj picked up two wickets each. In response, India’s openers KL Rahul (22) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (58 off 97 balls) shared a 65-run partnership for the first wicket, with Jaiswal reaching a well-timed fifty.
After Jaiswal’s dismissal, the Indian innings collapsed, as Sai Sudharsan (15), Dhruv Jurel (0), Rishabh Pant (7), Ravindra Jadeja (6), and Nitish Kumar Reddy (10) all fell cheaply. Washington Sundar (48) and Kuldeep Yadav (19) offered some resistance, but India were eventually bowled out for 201 in 83.5 overs.
Marco Jansen finished with six wickets, giving South Africa a commanding 288-run lead after the first innings.
