On Sunday, June 8, Member of Parliament Priya Saroj was seen holding back tears of happiness during her engagement to Indian cricketer Rinku Singh at The Centrum in Lucknow. Priya completed her schooling at the Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute in New Delhi and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Delhi University.

She then pursued a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Amity University. At 26 years old, she is currently serving her first term as an MP representing the Machhlishahr constituency in Jaunpur for the Samajwadi Party.

The engagement ceremony was an emotional occasion, with Priya Saroj clearly moved as Rinku placed the ring on her finger, creating a touching moment for the couple. You can watch the video here:

The ceremony saw the presence of many notable personalities, such as Rajeev Shukla, the Congress leader and BCCI Vice President, along with Akhilesh Yadav, the head of the Samajwadi Party and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Actress and political figure Jaya Bachchan also took part in the festivities. Cricketing guests included ex-players Praveen Kumar, Piyush Chawla, and Aryan Juyal, who leads the Uttar Pradesh Ranji team.

Rinku Singh’s KKR Finish 8th in IPL 2025

Rinku Singh most recently represented Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2025 season, which ended on June 3 with Rajat Patidar’s Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) winning their first-ever title. KKR, captained by Ajinkya Rahane, had a tough season, finishing eighth on the points table with 12 points from 14 games.

Rinku’s own performance fell short of expectations, scoring 206 runs in 11 innings at an average of 29.42 and a strike rate of 153.73. Overall, the left-handed batsman has featured in 59 IPL matches, accumulating 1,099 runs at an average of 30.52 and a strike rate of 145.17.

He has scored four half-centuries, with his highest being an unbeaten 67 off 33 balls against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 2023 season.
