Delhi Capitals (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) are facing each other in a must-win game at DY Patil 9Stadium in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Liam Livingstone produced a brilliant delivery to dismiss DC captain Rishabh Pant.

The Capitals were heavily dependent on their captain Rishabh to take them to a good total while batting first. But the DC captain failed to live up to the expectations. He could score just seven runs before he was dismissed by Liam Livingstone.

On the last ball of the 12th over, Rishabh Pant left the crease early to step out and hit it towards long-on. Livingstone saw Rishabh stepping out and delivered the ball which was away from the arc of Rishabh Pant. The ball sneaked under his bat and Pant was stumped out by Punjab Kings wicket-keeper Jitesh Sharma.

Before getting out, Rishabh Pant also hit a six on the previous ball. Several cricket fans criticised the game awareness of Pant in this situation. Fans believe that Pant should have tried to stay till the end and finish the game for Delhi in the death overs. Rishabh has failed to score even a single fifty-plus score this season.

“He needs to find the right balance” – Virender Sehwag urged Rishabh Pant play big knocks

Not converting starts into a big score has been the problem with Rishabh Pant for a while. Not only fans, even former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag too was upset with the way Pant is approaching his innings.

Sehwag believes that Pant is not able to find the right balance between batting with responsibility and playing freely. Speaking on the Cricbuzz show, Sehwag said, “Yes, Pant should play with a bit of responsibility. But when he does that, the strike rate falls. On the other hand, when he is playing freely, he gets out. He needs to find the right balance wherein he is able to play freely while batting till the end.”
