[WATCH] Rishabh Pant Shares The Video Of Star India Players Batting; Hinting At Their Potential Return

Talented India player Rishabh Pant posted exclusive video clips of Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul batting with great form, ahead of their speculated comebacks for the Asia Cup. It could mean that Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul are nearing their anticipated returns to the Indian team.

And, star player Rishabh Pant has given a significant update about the much-awaited comebacks of these top-notch batsmen ahead of the Asia Cup 2023. Following a lengthy recovery journey from a tragic car accident last year, wicketkeeper-batsman Pant has unveiled exclusive videos of Shreyas and Rahul batting impressively, fueling speculation about their potential appearances in the upcoming Asia Cup.

On Monday, Indian left-handed batsman Pant shared an unreleased video on Instagram, showcasing Iyer and Rahul in action during a practice match before the continental competition. Despite being the record holder, India has not yet unveiled its roster for the upcoming Asia Cup edition.

The 2023 Asia Cup, co-hosted by former victors Sri Lanka and Pakistan, is scheduled to commence in Multan. Babar Azam’s Pakistan will face Nepal on August 30 to kick off the tournament.

Pant gave an important update regarding the eagerly anticipated comebacks of Rahul and Iyer

However, Rishabh Pant, recovering at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru following a devastating car accident last year, could sit out the rest of the 2023 season. Pant missed the entire Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament due to severe injuries from the car crash, including forehead cuts, a ligament tear in his right knee, and abrasions on his back. Nevertheless, the 24-year-old’s recovery seems to be progressing quicker than anticipated.

Will Rahul and Iyer be able to regain their fitness before the Asia Cup?

According to a prior report from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), batters Iyer and Rahul were in the process of rehabilitation after suffering injuries to their thigh and lower back. The Indian batting pair had begun their preparations for the upcoming white-ball matches by practising at the NCA nets.

During this period, Rahul and Iyer were also engaged in strength and fitness training sessions. Ex-vice-captain Rahul injured his thigh playing for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2023, last representing India in March against Australia. Middle-order batter Iyer had back surgery this year and hasn’t played internationally since the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
