Rishabh Pant and MS Dhoni shared a light-hearted moment after their IPL 2025 clash on Monday, April 14. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by five wickets. During the match, CSK skipper MS Dhoni pulled off a brilliant run out.
He collected a wide delivery from Matheesha Pathirana and executed a sharp underarm throw from behind the stumps to dismiss LSG’s Abdul Samad. After the game, Pant jokingly asked Dhoni about the run out during their post-match conversation.
“Wicket dekha mar diya lagi toh theek hai (I saw the stumps and hit it thinking its okay if it hits or not),” Dhoni said.
Regarding this, Rishabh Pant hilariously replied:
“Lag hi jaa rahi hai na aapki (Your throws are hitting the stumps only right),” with a smile on his face.

Dhoni Leads CSK to Second IPL 2025 Victory
In just his second match as captain this season, MS Dhoni guided CSK to a crucial win over LSG, ending their five-match losing streak. After restricting LSG to 166/7 in 20 overs, CSK made a strong start in the chase but faced some pressure toward the end.
Dhoni then stepped up with a match-winning cameo, smashing an unbeaten 26 off 11 balls with four boundaries and a six at a strike rate of 236.36. CSK chased down the target in 19.3 overs with five wickets in hand. Dhoni was named ‘Player of the Match,’ becoming the oldest player to receive the award in IPL history.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are set to take on Mumbai Indians (MI) in their next IPL 2025 fixture on Sunday, April 20, at the Wankhede Stadium.
