[WATCH]- Rishabh Pant’s Funny Stump-Mic Moment Goes Viral During IND A vs SA A 1st Unofficial Test 2025

Team India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant’s witty remark from behind the stumps went viral on Day 1 of the first unofficial Test between India A and South Africa A at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground in Bengaluru. While left-arm spinner Manav Suthar was bowling, Pant was heard motivating him to maintain consistency by delivering all six balls in the same area.

The Uttarakhand-born cricketer made his competitive comeback in the ongoing A series against South Africa, where he is leading the Indian side. This marks his first official appearance since recovering from the severe toe injury sustained during the fourth Test against England in Manchester.

Pant had also missed the two-Test series against the West Indies in October. In a clip shared by Star Sports on October 30, the left-hander was heard saying:

“Zyaada fielder nahin hai outside mein. Dalta reh apna koi nahin. Thodi der dande pe daalo koi problem nahin. Maarne do. Tang mat do. Relax hoke daal. Shabaash. Rhythm pakadne ko dekho. Aa jaayega ek aad over mein. Pareshan mat ho.”

(There are not much fielders on the outside. Keep bowling your deliveries. Keep targetting the stumps for a bit, no problem. Let them hit. Relax and bowl. Focus on getting your rhythm. It will come in an over. Don’t worry.)

After Manav Suthar delivered a ball that the South African batter defended off the front foot, Rishabh Pant humorously remarked:

“Arre bhai. Yahi hai. 6 ball daalke dekho zara. Maza aayega. (Keep bowling six deliveries in that zone. It will be fun.)”

Rishabh Pant breaks partnership between Hamza and Hermann

The 28-year-old showcased his wicketkeeping brilliance by completing a catch off Zubayr Hamza’s glove after Gurnoor Brar delivered a sharp bouncer. Hamza attempted to duck but couldn’t avoid contact, and the ball deflected to Pant, who made no mistake behind the stumps. The South African batter departed for 66, bringing an end to a 132-run partnership with Jordan Hermann.

At the time of reporting, South Africa A stood at 177/3. Their skipper Marques Ackerman had fallen for 18, dismissed by Tanush Kotian. Earlier, Anshul Kamboj provided India A with the first breakthrough by removing Lesego Senokwane for a duck in the fourth over.
