Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal were dismissed in the first session of the three-day first-class match against County XI. Rohit fell while playing his favorite pull shot while Mayank was bowled by an incoming delivery. Lyndon James was the wicket-taker on both occasions.
After winning the toss, India’s captain for the game, Rohit Sharma, decided to bat first. The openers got off to a start but Rohit fell while attempting a pull shot. It was a delivery that rose a little higher than what Rohit anticipated.
As a result, Rohit could only get a thick top-edge that flew over mid-wicket. The fielder Jack Carson then ran back at full speed and held on to a stunner. It cut short Rohit’s 33-ball stay at the crease, and he will be disappointed with his outing. He looked decently comfortable at the crease up to the point. There were a few glorious shots during his knock, but Rohit will be keen on turning into a big knock next time.

Mayank Agarwal follows suit soon after Rohit Sharma’s dismissal
Rohit Sharma’s opening partner Mayank Agarwal also fell soon. He was nipped out by an in-swinging delivery from the same bowler. There was a huge gap between bat and pad which brought about Mayank’s dismissal.
Going into the series against England, he will have to fine-tune his defensive technique if he hopes to perform well.
Brilliant from @TrentBridge's Lyndon James who picks up his second.

Mayank had an overall better outing, however. He looked fluent while playing attacking shots, and was striking at more than run-a-ball initially. Despite the dismissal, Mayank can take confidence from his shot-making at the crease.
It will be interesting to see whether he can hone his defense before taking on the England bowlers. He might have another go depending on how quickly County Select XI finish their innings.
