Team India have been playing against New Zealand in the first Test in Kanpur. Middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer, who has made his debut, has scored a century. He hit 105 in 171 balls before being dismissed on Day 2.

With this ton, Iyer became the 16th Indian to score a hundred on their first Test match. Moreover, Shreyas Iyer is the third consecutive player from Mumbai to achieve the feat along with Rohit Sharma (2013) and Prithvi Shaw (2018).

However, Rohit Sharma took to Instagram to celebrate this feat and shared a hilarious dance clip where he himself, Iyer, and Shardul Thakur can be seen shaking legs on a song. And, the video has gone viral on social media as well.

Moreover, Rohit’s wife Ritika Sajdeh also commented on the post, “Little twinkle toes,” while tagging all three players as well. Even, on Thursday, Rohit had taken to Twitter and wished Shreyas for his batting.

Rohit had written, “Good start to the Test career Shreyas Iyer” as well.

Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer was batting not-out at 75 at the end of play on Day 1 before completing his century on the next day. Eventually, he was dismissed for 105 by the pace bowler Tim Southee as well. However, his hundred helped his side post 345 on the board. Apart from his hundred, both Shubman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja also scored a half-century.

Meanwhile, New Zealand openers Will Young and Tom Latham have added a 100-run stand for the first wicket, stitching 129 runs as well. It will be interesting to see how the Indian bowlers will bounce back on Day 3.
