India’s batting stalwart Rohit Sharma shared a light-hearted exchange with former England skipper Kevin Pietersen during a T20 World Cup 2026 event in Dubai. A video circulating on social media shows the two seemingly chatting about six-hitting, with Rohit joking that his biceps are smaller than Pietersen’s.

The former Indian captain, who has featured in 508 international matches, holds the record for the most sixes across formats, having struck 650 in total. He leads the charts by a significant margin of 97 sixes, with Chris Gayle placed second after hammering 553 sixes in 483 appearances.

In the clip shared online, the 38-year-old remarked:

“Look at his biceps and look at mine. He may hit a 100-meter six but I only want to hit 70 meters that is just crossing the rope.”

In international cricket, the hard-hitting Indian opener now features only in the ODI format. He stepped away from T20Is after lifting the World Cup in 2024 and announced his retirement from Test cricket in May 2025. The right-handed batter was last seen in action during the ODI series against New Zealand.

“I’ll give it everything I have to achieve it” – Rohit Sharma targets 2027 World Cup glory

At the same event, the Nagpur-born star spoke about his desire to feature in the 2027 World Cup, noting that he grew up watching the 50-over format. Rohit Sharma hinted that he hopes to bow out on a high by lifting the coveted trophy. He said:

“I will definitely want to go out there and win the World Cup for my country. I grew up watching the 50-over World Cup. There was no T20 World Cup, no IPL, no World Test Championship back then.”

“That was the pinnacle of cricket, held once every four years. There was so much at stake, so much weight attached to that one trophy. I really want to win it, and I’m going to do everything in my power to work hard and achieve it.”
