After his practice session at Wankhede Stadium on April 15, 2026, Rohit Sharma interacted with a large number of fans gathered outside the stadium. Despite having his right hamstring strapped due to an injury from the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he took time to sign autographs and greet supporters before leaving for the team bus.

This gesture came ahead of Mumbai Indians’ important match against Punjab Kings, reflecting his dedication to fans even during recovery. Videos of the interaction soon went viral on social media, highlighting the enthusiastic atmosphere as he continues preparing for the rest of the Indian Premier League 2026 season.

Rohit Sharma Cleared Of Hamstring Tear But To Miss RCB Clash At Wankhede Stadium

Rohit Sharma is likely to miss Thursday’s match against Punjab Kings after sustaining a hamstring injury during the previous game at Wankhede Stadium against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Mumbai Indians have not issued an official update on his availability, and he is currently being monitored.

“The medical team is assessing him, and a decision will be taken before the match,” a spokesperson for the franchise said on the eve of the game.

As reported earlier, Rohit Sharma is unlikely to feature on Thursday. With the long season in mind, the medical team is opting for a cautious approach. He underwent scans on Monday, which reportedly did not reveal any tear or significant damage.

Rohit trained under the supervision of the physio at Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday. However, he appeared uncomfortable while jogging, frequently clutching his hamstring, although he later took part in a batting session in the nets.

There are also indications that the final decision on his participation could be left to the player himself. He sustained the injury during the second innings against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and retired hurt in the sixth over of the chase after scoring 19 off 13 balls, following extended on-field treatment.
