Star Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Rohit Sharma and Delhi Capitals (DC) spinner Kuldeep Yadav caught up after their IPL 2025 clash at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday, May 21. The two were seen chatting near the presentation area, joined by DC batter Karun Nair and team mentor Kevin Pietersen.
Rohit Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav later entertained the crowd by tossing tennis balls into the stands. Kuldeep threw the balls with his hands, while Rohit used a tennis racket to hit them toward the fans. Kevin Pietersen also joined in with the racket, adding to the light-hearted moment.

Rohit Sharma Falls Short as Mumbai Indians Triumph at Wankhede
Although Mumbai Indians (MI) secured a dominant win over Delhi Capitals to book their place in the playoffs, Rohit Sharma had a forgettable outing with the bat.
The match held special significance for the veteran batter, it marked his first appearance since announcing his retirement from Test cricket and came on the day a stand at Wankhede Stadium was named in his honor. Rohit managed only five runs from five deliveries after MI were put in to bat first.
Despite his early dismissal, the team posted a competitive 180/5 and went on to defend it comfortably, winning by a convincing margin of 59 runs. With this result, MI became the fourth team to qualify for the playoffs, sitting on 16 points with one league match remaining against Punjab Kings.
So far this season, the 38-year-old has amassed 305 runs in 12 innings at an average of 27.27 and a strike rate of 150.99, including three half-centuries. He will be eager to return to form in MI’s final league game and help the team carry momentum into the playoffs.
