India and Leicestershire are facing each other in a four-day warm up match. It’s a crucial practice match for the Indian team to get a good taste of England conditions before the main Test match against England starting on 1st July. Rohit Sharma is leading the Indian team.

The most special part about this warm up match is that Indian fans got to see the battle of Jasprit Bumrah against Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Bumrah, Cheteshwar Pujara, Prasidh Krishna and Rishabh Pant are representing the Leicestershire XI in this match.

The Indian captain won the toss and decided to bat first on a tricky pitch to bat. Rohit Sharma managed to score 25 runs before he got out while playing a pull shot to Roman Walker. He ohit didn’t look comfortable in his innings.

A ball from Jasprit Bumrah also hit Rohit Sharma near the groin region. Bumrah bowled an in-cutter which moved in sharply. Rohit opened up and got hit near groin area. He looked in a lot of pain after getting hit.

Roman Walker picks up a fifer against India

After electing to bat first , the Indian batsman didn’t put up a good show. Shubhman Gill was dismissed on a score of 21 runs. Captain Rohit managed to score just 25 runs. Shreyas Iyer was dismissed on duck, while Hanuma Vihari and Ravindra Jadeja couldn’t cross the double figure mark.

Virat Kohli and KS Bharat put up a 50 plus runs partnership to bail Indian team out of the trouble. Bharat scored a brilliant fifty plus runs on a difficult pitch. The former Indian captain scored 33 runs and played some brilliant shots. Roman Walker picked up a outstanding fifer to restrict India to 248/8 at the end of Day 1.
