[WATCH]- Rohit Sharma’s Heartwarming Gesture Stuns Fan During Vijay Hazare Trophy Match

Rohit Sharma, a key batter for Team India and Mumbai, delighted a fan with a warm gesture during the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025–26 match against Uttarakhand in Jaipur on Friday, December 26. The experienced cricketer acknowledged the supporter with a wave, leaving the fan overjoyed, with his reaction quickly going viral on social media.

Although Rohit was unable to make an impact with the bat in the match, many spectators departed the Sawai Mansingh Stadium early. Still, a few loyal fans stayed back hoping to see the star. When one supporter repeatedly called out to the former India skipper, Rohit responded by waving back, creating a memorable moment.

The Nagpur-born batter had earlier smashed a blistering 155 off just 94 balls, striking 15 fours and eight sixes to power Mumbai to a comfortable chase of 237 against Sikkim. However, he suffered a setback in the next match, getting dismissed for a first-ball duck by Devendra Singh Bora.

Mumbai Win Despite Rohit Sharma’s Golden Duck

Despite Rohit Sharma’s golden duck, Mumbai posted a commanding 331 in their allotted 50 overs. Musheer Khan, Sarfaraz Khan and Hardik Tamore struck half-centuries, with Tamore top-scoring with 93, while valuable contributions also came from Shams Mulani and Shardul Thakur through brisk cameos.

For Uttarakhand, Yuvraj Chaudhary and Jagadeesha Suchith registered fifties, but the absence of support from the rest of the batting line-up made the chase an uphill task. Mumbai’s bowlers then took charge, with captain Shardul Thakur, Onkar Tarmale and Musheer Khan picking up two wickets each, and Shams Mulani and Tanush Kotian chipping in with one apiece.

Rohit may miss the remainder of the tournament, especially with the ODI series against New Zealand approaching. The aggressive opener will be eager to take his recent form into the three-match series against the Kiwis, which begins on January 11 in Vadodara.

The 38-year-old ended the ODI series against Australia with 202 runs, highlighted by a century. While he failed to score a hundred in the home ODI series against South Africa, he still contributed with a couple of half-centuries.
