Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar recently met Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, and their interaction led to a fun game of ‘crennis’—a blend of cricket and tennis. In a video shared by Tendulkar, the two were seen on a tennis court, but Gates appeared surprised by how Tendulkar was holding the racket. “I thought we were playing tennis?” Gates asked, to which Tendulkar humorously responded, “I said crennis.”
The lighthearted match concluded with both enjoying a traditional Indian snack, Vada Pav. Sharing the video, Tendulkar emphasized the importance of teamwork, both in sports and life, while also highlighting the collaborative efforts of the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation and the Gates Foundation.

Team India, More Than Just a Batting Powerhouse
Beyond his fun exchange with Gates, Tendulkar praised the current Indian cricket team, describing it as a well-balanced unit with a blend of youth and experience. He particularly lauded the team’s fearless approach and acknowledged players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Shubman Gill for carrying forward India’s cricketing legacy.
However, Tendulkar pointed out that India is no longer just known for its batting strength. The rise of world-class pacers and spinners has given the team a well-rounded edge in all formats of the game. Over the years, India has produced outstanding batters such as Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara, Murali Vijay, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, and Shreyas Iyer, who have contributed significantly to India’s dominance in Test and limited-overs cricket.

India’s Bowling Evolution and Recent Achievements
Tendulkar also highlighted India’s remarkable progress in the bowling department. Spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have played a key role in India’s Test success, both with the ball and the bat. Meanwhile, pacers like Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, and Ishant Sharma have helped make fast bowling a strong asset for India.
The emergence of young speedsters such as Mayank Yadav, Umran Malik, and Kartik Tyagi has further strengthened India’s bowling attack. Despite recent setbacks in ICC tournament knockouts, Team India has cemented itself as a cricketing powerhouse with an unbeaten home Test record for over a decade and a strong showing in major tournaments like the ICC Cricket World Cup, T20 World Cup, and Champions Trophy.
