[WATCH] Sanju Samson Reacts Nonchalantly To Query On Star Bowler After T20 World Cup 2026

Sanju Samson gave a relaxed response to the media when asked about tackling Jofra Archer’s challenge in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The Indian wicketkeeper-batter had struggled against England’s speedster during a bilateral T20I series in 2025, but he turned the tables on the big stage of the global tournament.

When India national cricket team faced England national cricket team in the semifinal of the tournament at Wankhede Stadium last week, much of the attention was on the contest between Samson and Archer. Notably, the English pacer had dismissed Samson in each of the first three matches of the 2025 bilateral series.

However, the crucial semifinal saw Samson dominate the matchup. The right-hander went after Archer aggressively, smashing four sixes and also striking a couple of boundaries off his bowling at the Wankhede Stadium. When asked how he overcame the mental challenge and faced Jofra Archer fearlessly in the semifinal, Samson responded:

“All of the hype was made by you guys only. I didn’t even look to think about all that.”

Sanju Samson Set To Face Jofra Archer Again In IPL 2026

The IPL 2026 season is scheduled to get underway on March 28. In the previous edition, Jofra Archer played under Sanju Samson’s leadership at the Rajasthan Royals. However, this season brings a change, with Samson moving to the Chennai Super Kings while Archer remains with the Rajasthan Royals.
